day 15 - hiragana

1. Learned the next five hiragana: sa, shi, su, se, so.  さしすせそ。
2. played a memory game with all the hiragana we've learned so far.
3. finished the unit 1 lesson 2 core lesson.  Learned how to ask "what is this?" and how to say some is not doing something.

Day 14 - Quiz #3

We took Quiz #3.  Come see me if you missed it.

We then learned about Shikoku from Quan.

Then started on Lesson 2 in Rosetta Stone.  Lots of new vocabulary words in this one:

We continued to work on presentations, as well as the individual Rosetta Stone lessons.  By now everyone should have completed the following sections of lesson 1:

Pronunciation

Reading

Writing

Speaking

Review

On Wed. and Thurs. we watched a film called Tora San.  

Each student then made a list of 5 questions the film raised about life in Japan, and 5 unique things they noticed about Japanese Culture, as well as a list of any words they recognized.

Today everyone signed up for presentations.  Here's what we got so far:

For the first step, make a list of 10 questions you want to find out about related to your topic.  Then proceed to find the answers to those questions.

Each presentation should either be a powerpoint, a pbs style documentary, or an instructional video.  If it's a powerpoint, it should have at least 10 slides with pictures, and links to at least two video clips.  If it's a video, it should be at least 5 minutes long.

Most of all, have fun, and keep it entertaining while you teach us about these subjects!

1. Took quiz #2.  You can't download that, though, cuz it's a quiz.
2. Filled in the blanks on the map of Japan.
3. Practiced bowing and introducing ourselves to each other, using the following words:
Hajimemashite.
___my_name____ desu.
Dozou Yoroshiku.

Day 8 -

1- Rosetta stone unit 1 lesson 1 of reading and listening.  practiced writing the words otokonoko and onnanoko in hiragana.  Here's how: おとこのこ　おんなのこ
